Bengaluru, once known as the city of a thousand lakes is now being called the city with a thousand toxic water bodies. The city’s Bellandure lake is so polluted that it has started frothing.
Sometimes the snow like toxic foam from the lake rises and spills over to the surrounding areas, causing inconvenience to the people. After several complaints, the Karnataka government installed a sewage treatment plant but was no match for the heavily polluted lake.
Madhev Raj, a citizen of Bengaluru, reports for The Quint on how toxic foam of Bellandur Lake is refusing to go away.
