Techie Injures 24 People With a Sword, Gets Fatally Shot by Cops

A 26-year-old ‘depressed’ engineer went on a rampage in Karimnagar, attacking people on the streets.

A 26-year-old ‘depressed’ software engineer attacked people on the streets of Karimnagar town with a sword and severely injured as many as six persons, including his parents and two policemen, before being fatally shot by police.

Balvinder Singh alias Babloo was undergoing treatment for depression and other psychological problems following his failure in the civil services examination recently, said Deputy Superintendent of Police, J Rama Rao.

An employee with a multinational IT firm in Bengaluru, Balvinder was staying with his parents for the past one month and undergoing treatment.
