Days ahead of the 3-day long ‘World Culture Festival’, Sri Sri Ravi Shankar, spiritual guru and founder of Art of Living Foundation, was found defending the festival. “As per my knowledge, not a single tree has been cut for the festival. Only four trees were trimmed,’ he said.
The event is expected to bring at least 35 lakh people to the banks of the river Yamuna.
Environmentalists have opposed the event saying that it would cause irreparable damage to the delicate ecosystem of Yamuna riverbed.
