Russia’s Kereel Blumenkrants was crowned Air Guitar World Champion on Friday after a tight play-off in Oulu, Finland.

To the sound of blasting rock music and dressed in a shiny spaceman/rocker suit, Blumenkrants battled it out with US Champion, Matt “Aristotle” wowing the rain-soaked crowds with their inexplicable “airness” quality.

This year marks the 20th anniversary of the competition that’s seen the sport go from Finnish curiosity to worldwide phenomenon.

Thousands partied in the rain while watching Blumenkrants score a set of 5.9’s to secure his win.
