A passenger jet travelling from the Egyptian resort Sharm el-Sheikh to the Russian city of St Petersburg has crashed in Central Sinai. Russian embassy has confirmed that all the people on board have been killed.

Egyptian search and rescue teams have found the site of the crashed passenger plane in the Hassana area, south of Arish, Sinai, the Civilian Aviation Ministry said.

The Egyptian affiliate of the Islamic State has claimed that they shot the down the airliner.
