Rohith Vemula’s Mother, Rahul Gandhi Break their Hunger Strike

The protest at the Hyderabad University continues. If Rohith Vemula were alive today, he would have turned 27 years old.

Addressing the students at the University, Rahul said, “There is a lot of discrimination towards students from different categories in India”. He also said that there is a Rohith Vemula in every educational institution in our country.

Rohith’s mother, along with Gandhi, broke her hunger strike on Saturday evening.

I worked very hard and brought him up. I hoped that he would become successful one day. He told me that in another year he would be employed. I took care of him for 27 years and sent him to the University. But they returned his dead body to me.
