Hunger knows no borders. And it appears as though the Robin Hood Army doesn’t either.
A collective of volunteers committed to feeding the hungry, the Robin Hood Army kicked off in India in August 2014. Since its inception, it has crossed the border and established a significant presence in Pakistan too.
This Independence Day, the Robins, as the members are called, set out to achieve what seemed a Herculean task. Their goal – to distribute food to a million people in India and Pakistan. That’s right, 1,000,000 people!
By the time Independence Day celebrations wrapped up in India and Pakistan, here’s how the numbers stacked up for the Robin Hood Army’s #Mission1Million.
Number of cities: 48
Number of Robins volunteering: 10,350
Number of people fed: 1,326,658!
Now, isn’t that a fantastic way to celebrate independence?
