Politicians call Robert Vadra a land-grabber, a glorified property dealer. He has been lampooned even as a fresh probe has been ordered against him in Haryana to enquire into the allegedly illegal business deals that he is said to have made crores from.

From the AAP to the BJP, political parties have cashed in by attacking him and his links to the Congress’s first family. Even when he decides to do a good deed, as he did during Congress’s campaigning for the UP assembly elections, he gets into trouble.

The local administration in UP complained of his high-handed ways and the matter quickly snowballed into a major crisis. With even the Election Commission jumping in.

From the corridors of power in Delhi, to the Polo Bar at Hyatt, 1911 at Imperial to Ricks at Taj Mansingh, you will find many individuals with their own stories to tell about Robert.

Meanwhile, Vadra it appears is busy creating a new image for himself.

To the extent that he is even beginning to laugh at himself.

Vadra has also put the ‘are you serious’ controversy behind him, months after he reacted angrily to a reporter’s questions about his questionable land deals.

Attempts have been made to keep his political side alive. So he gets angry when a strong jibe is hurled against his mother-in-law.

To be sure, Vadra has hit a few wrong notes. Look at this picture of his on Facebook, posted on 14 May. At a time when his brother-in-law Rahul Gandhi is leading an attack on the Modi administration using the term ‘suit-boot sarkar’, Vadra posed in a suit, using the title, ‘Suit Boot, Ji’.
