The President of Wrestling Federation of India, Brij Bhushan Singh, on Wednesday informed the media that United World Wrestling (UWW) has given clearance to Narsingh Yadav for Rio Olympics.
Earlier, Yadav’s nomination to Rio in 74 kg category of wrestling was in jeopardy after he tested positive for a dope test on 25 June. However on Monday, National Anti-Doping Agency (NADA) exonerated Yadav of the doping charge, citing him as a ‘victim of conspiracy’.
Now the only hurdle in Yadav’s qualification to Rio is WADA. The World Anti-Doping Agency will file a review report of NADA’s verdict based on which Narsingh will get a final nod to participate in Rio Olympics.
