It was day four of Rahul Gandhi’s Kisaan Mahayatra and the Congress Vice-President reached Ayodhya – a city no Gandhi has visited since the infamous Babri Mosque demolition of 1992.

Rahul visited the Hanuman Garhi temple and offered his prayers. He also met the priests and Mahant of the temple and sat down to have a chat with them.

Not every saint and priest supports BJP. What have BJP and VHP done for the saints? We opened a school for benefit of Brahmin kids. But when Rajnath Singh was CM of Uttar Pradesh, he terminated the agreement of the school.

However, Mahant and Rahul did not discuss the Ram Temple issue.

Political pundits believe that Rahul’s visit to the temple was a bid to pander to the Brahmin voters. Will the blessings of saints be enough to fulfill the political ambitions of the Congress Vice President?
