Four days into his formidable Mahayatra, Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi on Saturday took a jibe at the Railway Ministry’s experiment with surge-pricing.
Addressing a meeting at Ambedkar Nagar, Gandhi said, “First they talk about bullet trains and then hike rail fares.”
In a staunch attack on the Akhilesh Yadav Government, Gandhi remarked that “in UP, power is absent, while tariffs are on the rise.”
He later attended a cooling down session at the Gauraini Madrasa in Ambedkar Nagar, where he met Community leaders.
Bereft of any political presence in UP, the Congress’s Vice President has embarked on a month long rural outreach programme. Seen by many as a big gamble , the Congress seems desperate to win back it’s core constituency, the agrarian community.
