‘Udta Punjab’: Engaging and Power Packed

Udta Punjab has finally released and the curiosity that surrounds its release is proof that the Censor Board did some commendable PR work!

Moving away from the hullabaloo, however, director Abhishek Chaubey must be praised for making a hard-hitting and engaging film on the subject of drug addiction. Further, the music in the movie has been used to stunning effect.

If the second half had been better edited and the pace was a little more urgent, Udta Punjab would have soared.

Catch the movie; we promise you won’t regret it.

Gulbarg Massacre Case: 11 Murder Convicts Get Life Imprisonment

A special court in Ahmedabad announced the quantum of punishment in the Gulbarg massacre case. 11 convicts were awarded life imprisonment, 12 were sentenced to seven years’ jail time, and one has been sent to jail for 10 years. No death sentence was awarded to any of the convicts.

Slain Congressman Ehsan Jafri’s wife Zakia Jafri has said she will seek life imprisonment for all the convicts. The convicts’ kin will also appeal against the sentencing in a higher court.
