Pampore Encounter Ends After 56 Hours, 2 Terrorists Killed

A three-day battle between security forces and terrorists holed up in the EDI building ended on Wednesday with the death of two militants, the army announced.

In an address to the media, Major General Ashok Narula, General Officer Commanding (GOC) Victor Force, said that the operation took time because there were 60 rooms in the building and all of them had to be cleared, including the bathrooms.

Here’s Why Dipa Will Return Gifted BMW to ‘Original Owner’

Indian gymnast Dipa Karmakar will be returning the BMW car presented to her by Sachin Tendulkar due to ‘maintenance issues’, The Times of India reported.

Dipa, who was gifted a BMW for her performance at the 2016 Rio Olympics along with Sakshi Malik and PV Sindhu, will be returning the car to its “original owner”, V Chamundeswaranath, President of the Hyderabad Badminton Association.

Amit Shah, Arun Jaitley Visit Jayalalithaa; Panneerselvam Given Her Portfolios

BJP President Amit Shah and Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley on Wednesday visited the Apollo Hospital to enquire about the Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa's health.

With Jayalalithaa continuing to remain in hospital since 22 September, Tamil Nadu Governor C Vidyasagar Rao on Tuesday allocated the portfolios held by her to Finance Minister O Paneerselvam but said the AIADMK supremo will continue to be the Chief Minister.
