3. This Website Has Leaked Reliance Jio Users’ Details in India

Activists have been crying themselves hoarse for months about the risks of Aadhar – but few had realised until now how big a risk smartphones can pose too! A website called ‘magicapk’ leaked email addresses, names, and in some cases, even Aadhaar ID details of existing Reliance Jio users.

Now, Reliance Jio has over a 100 million users on its network, and if the data breach has affected ALL its users, then it could become a serious situation. However, Jio spokespersons have insisted that the leak is inauthentic – even as users say it is real. So what’s happening now? The breach seems to be under control, but stay tuned for more.

4. UP Man Sandeep Kumar Nabbed After J&K Police Busts Lashkar Module

The Jammu and Kashmir Police busted a module of the Lashkar-e-Taiba on 10 July. Among those arrested is Sandeep Kumar, a man from Uttar Pradesh, who is believed to have been behind the recent attack in which six policemen were killed.

Inspector General of Police Munir Khan said video evidence showed that Lashkar was running criminal gangs involved in bank robberies and other criminal acts. According to Khan, Sandeep was also known as Adil to the locals.
