It’s that time of the year again when pick-up trucks race through sludge in the Australian countryside of Deniliquin . Yes, we are talking about the Deniliquin Ute muster, Australia’s wackiest rural festival.
Like every other year, Deniliquin witnessed drivers lining up on the muddy circuit, as they waited to compete with each other. Heavy showers that preceded the event could not dampen the festive spirit, as onlookers cheered at the revved up pick-up trucks.
Started in 1999 to boost tourism, the carnival is held over the Labour Day weekend and attracts more than 20,000 visitors every year. In keeping with its rustic feel,the festival also features other exciting events such as bull fights and wood cutting.
