Absolute Pari-War in Samajwadi Party: Akhilesh Sacks Uncle Shivpal

On Sunday, the party saw an interesting development in one of the biggest political-family dramas in the country.

On Sunday morning, Akhilesh Yadav sacked uncle and state party president Shivpal Yadav and three other cabinet ministers from the Samajwadi Party. The decision was reached after a unanimous resolution at a legislature meeting convened at the party office.

The UP CM had convened a meeting of 175 of the 300-odd MLAs and MLCs to chart a new course in the ongoing family feud.

Last month, Akhilesh had the taken away Shivpal Yadav’s portfolios, but retained him in the council of ministers.
