A few days after the heinous rape and murder of a veterinary doctor in Hyderabad, the Telangana police killed all the four accused in an encounter on Friday, 6 December. Working women speak out about the encounter and whether such an act is justified.
A blogger, however, feels that it was “justice delivered.”
There has been outrage from all quarters after this rape and murder case. There is even a Change.org petition to strengthen the law and order situation as well as publicise the emergency helpline number.
The accused were killed early Friday morning when, according to the police, they tried to escape from Chatanpally near Shadnagar, about 50 km from Hyderabad.
The accused were gunned down at the same spot where they had dumped the victim's body and set it afire on the night of 27 November after the gang-rape near Shamshabad on the outskirts of Hyderabad.
The accused were taken to the spot for the reconstruction of the crime scene as part of the investigations.
The gruesome rape and murder had triggered nationwide rage with demands for the immediate death penalty to the perpetrators.
