Two-year-old twin pandas have begun to live independently from their mother in south China's Guangdong City. In March, the panda keepers separated them from their mother.
The twins named Qinqin and Aiai celebrated their 2nd birthday lately. Now, these adorable two, with their average weight over 60 kilograms, are just like six-year-old children and can live alone without breastfeeding.
In August, they stopped drinking milk and now mainly eat bamboo, carrots and coarse bread, similar to adult pandas. Qinqin currently shows more interest in these kinds of foods than his younger brother.
"Qinqin loves bamboo more. Aiai shows less interest in bamboo, because it liked to be with its mother in the past. It loves being with its mom and enjoys breastfeeding. So it has more milk (than Qinqin). We separated them (from their mother), so Aiai will eat more bamboo than before. They often interact with each other, and play together. Sometimes, they fight or bite each other while playing," said Chen Xiangxiang, the twin pandas' keeper.
The two adorable cubs spend most of their time eating, playing and just resting in trees.
