Winter is not that bad after all, at least for ice skating lovers!
Marten Ajne, an ice skating enthusiast, proves that skating is not just a an art but it also involves a little calculative moves. He takes over a 45-mm ice sheet in Lissma Kvarnsjo, Sweden.
Speeding over the frozen lake without any fear, this skater has become an internet celebrity. Carefully moving through an isolated zone, the Swedish ice skater demonstrates his extraordinary skills.
Taking over the lake-edges, he covers the distance of 50-60 km daily in a zigzag direction. Leaving behind scratches of his boots, the skater shows his confidence and passion of the risk taking adventure.
A mathematician by profession, he thinks skating is both art and science. Since there are layers of air and water under the lake, the frozen surface acts like a vibrating cymbal as Marten skates over it. A strange laser-like sound is produced while his bodyweight passes over the black turf.

(The Quint, in association with BitGiving, has launched a crowdfunding campaign for an 8-month-old who was raped in Delhi on 28 January 2018. The baby girl, who we will refer to as 'Chhutki', was allegedly raped by her 28-year-old cousin when her parents were away. She has been discharged from AIIMS hospital after undergoing three surgeries, but needs more medical treatment in order to heal completely. Her parents hail from a low-income group and have stopped going to work so that they can take care of the baby. You can help cover Chhutki's medical expenses and secure her future. Every little bit counts. Click here to donate.)
