Voter May Punish Congress, SP, BSP for ‘No Mahagathbandhan’ in UP

The lack of a Mahagatbandhan so far ultimately plants doubts in the mind of the voter, argues Rohit Khanna.

When it comes to the Lok Sabha Elections, “it is what you do, and what you didn’t do that matters,” argues The Quint’s Executive Editor Rohit Khanna, who further goes on to say that it is the voter who will ultimately receive the short end of the stick because of a lack of a Congress-SP-BSP or a Congress-AAP Mahagatbandhan.

The constant back and forth between the parties involved ultimately adds to the confusion of the voter as to who they should vote for. It also begs the question that will they eventually form a post-poll alliance if they are presented with such an opportunity? Because according to the numbers, an alliance would work in their favour to fuel their initial idea of defeating the BJP government. The voter would be doubtful about several things including the fact that if an alliance is formed, will it sustain?
