MS Dhoni received a lot of flak for scoring just 54 runs off 114 balls against West Indies in the fourth ODI that India lost by 11 runs. However, captain Virat Kohli defended the former skipper and said that it was only in the last match that Dhoni got stuck at the crease.
‘He’s striking the ball beautifully. You don’t need to tell him anything on how to build a situation or play an innings. We get too impatient after one knock. It can happen to anyone,’ said Kohli after India beat West Indies in the fifth ODI at Sabina Park to clinch the series 3-1.
After struggling himself with scores of 11 and 3 in the previous games, Kohli smashed an unbeaten 111-run knock off 115 balls to help India successfully chase West Indies’ score of 205.
