Here Are the MLAs Vijay Rupani Inducted Into His Cabinet in Guj

A look at who is worth how much and who has criminal cases registered against them.

On Tuesday, 26 December, Vijay Rupani took oath as Chief Minister of Gujarat, and inducted 20 other MLAs into his Cabinet, to form the new government in the state.

But, who are these ministers and what has been their track record so far?

Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani was elected for the second consecutive term on Tuesday, after succeeding Anandiben Patel in 2016. Before becoming the Chief Minister, Rupani served as the state chief of the party.

Deputy Chief Minister Nitin Patel has held portfolios like Minister for Finance, Urban Development, and Petro Chemicals in the past.

The richest MLA, Saurabh Patel is married to Ila Ambani, the cousin of Mukesh and Anil Ambani. Patel also happens to be one of the most educated members in the Cabinet.

Bhupendrasinh Chudasma is a five-time Cabinet minister in Gujarat, who has been part of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) since 1960.

Jayesh Radadiya is among the youngest MLAs in the state, and is also among the leaders with the highest liability against him at Rs 16.04 crore. He is also one of the only Cabinet members with a criminal background, with Sections 324, 504 and 114 of the Indian Penal Code registered against him.

Ganpatsinh Vasava has been the youngest Speaker of the Gujarat Assembly, and also the first tribal Speaker. He had also served the portfolios of Minister of Forest and Environment, Tribal Welfare, and Law and Parliamentary Affairs.

Pradeepsinh Jadeja has served as the Home Minister and has been an MLA since 2007. Jadeja served as the party’s chief whip in 2010 and is known to be a close aide of Amit Shah.

Solanki has served as the Minister for Fisheries and is the most notorious member in the Cabinet, with six criminal cases registered against him. He has been accused of causing Rs 400 crore loss to the state government for granting improper contracts.
