While the children are away on summer vacation, a government primary school in UP’s Rampur district has been converted into a poultry farm, reported ANI. \
The school headmaster has been reportedly suspended and the village head is also being held responsible.
The village head claims that an extra classroom was given only on a temporary basis to a nearby poultry farm after it was destroyed in heavy rain.
He went on to blame the education department for the deplorable condition of the school, which is stacked with dung-cakes and overflows with filth.
The school’s former headmaster Prayag Kumar said, “After the summer vacation began on May 21, we locked the school building and handed over the keys to the village head who also heads the school management committee. He stabbed us in the back though,” as reported by the Times of India.
A probe has been ordered against the village head and the education department has been instructed to report illegal encroachments across all schools in the district.
