In the third ceasefire violation by Pakistan in as many days, two civilians were killed and three others injured in Nowshera sector of Jammu and Kashmir's Rajouri district on 13 May.

Heavy shelling by Pakistan along the LoC was met with sharp retaliation from the Indian Army. All schools in the region have been directed to shut down and as a precautionary measure, and an evacuation plan is underway. More than 1,200 people from several villages on the border are being shifted to safer locations.

People unable to take part in the evacuation process have been taking shelter in bunkers to escape the shelling.
