At least twelve people were killed and several others injured after armed assailants carried out simultaneous attacks in Iran’s capital, Tehran.
According to reports, four armed men stormed Iran’s heavily-fortified parliament and opened fire, in which one security personnel is said to have been killed.
The second attack was carried out by a suicide bomber outside the tomb of Ayatollah Khomeini, Iran’s revolutionary leader.
All four gunmen inside the parliament have been killed. Meanwhile, Indian External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj said she has spoken to the Iranian Finance Minister on the issue.
