It’s been over 90 years since the world was first introduced to Tintin, his adorable dog Snowy and the many escapades the two would undertake, not only to far corners of planet earth, but even one to the moon. Although fictional, Tintin embodied a daring heroism that the world desperately needed.
It was on 10 January 1929 that Tintin’s first adventure was published the Le Petit Vingtieme , a supplement published from Brussels. This threw open to readers a universe filled with evil forces, that Tintin, an international journalist, would expose and defeat.
As Tintin hopped from one audacious mission to another, he left a lasting impression on his fans, for many, even defining their childhood.
But second to Tintin were characters like Captain Haddock, known for his penchant for ‘swear’ words that didn’t actually mean anything offensive. Together with Tintin, Snowy and the many other characters, readers were transported to another universe.
As the legendary comic character turns 90, here’s how those at The Quint remember his journey.
