Seven kilo of foreign objects were discovered in the stomach of a 34-year-old Maksud Khan. The man complained of severe abdominal pain and the doctors suspected it to be case of food poisoning.
But they were in for a shock as hundreds of coins, 1.5 kg of nails, dozens of shaving blades, glass shards and a 6-inch piece of rusted iron shackle were discovered in his stomach during an endoscopy.
He was operated at Sanjay Gandhi Hospital, Satna, Madhya Pradesh and is now said to be out of danger.
Khan worked as a three wheeler driver and suffered from mental health problems.
As told by family members and doctors, he developed the habit of ingesting coins given to him by customers.
