Sasikala Pushpa Suspects ‘Foul Play’ in Jayalalithaa’s Death

Expelled Rajya Sabha MP Sasikala Pushpa has filed a writ petition demanding an inquiry into J Jayalalithaa’s death.

Late Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Jayalalithaa’s demise has been mired in controversy ever since her death was declared on 5 December. And now, expelled Rajya Sabha MP Sasikala Pushpa has filed a writ petition in the Supreme Court asking for judicial inquiry into Jayalalithaa’s death.

She has also hit out at Sasikala Natarajan, Jayalalithaa’s closest aide. This comes within days of it becoming clear that Natarajan will take over the reins of the AIADMK.

“Right from the day she (Jayalalithaa) was admitted, till she was declared dead, CBI must conduct judicial inquiry. Tamil Nadu people suspect Sasikala Natarajan and her family might have done something in Amma’s death,” Pushpa said.

As senior AIADMK leaders state publicly that Sasikala Natarajan would take over soon, Sasikala Pushpa said that she must not be allowed to do so since Jayalalithaa had expelled her from the party for conspiring against her in 2011.

Sasikala Pushpa has also filed a case at Madras High Court against Sasikala Natarajan being elected as the General Secretary of the AIADMK party.
