Activist and cameraman Abd Alkader Habak was standing close to a bus convoy outside Aleppo on 15 April, when blasts hit the buses carrying Shia residents as they waited to cross from rebel into government territory in an evacuation deal between the warring sides.
Habak was thrown to the ground by the impact. On gathering his senses, he saw a child gasping for breath.
Habak continued to help the children. Other camerapersons present at the site, however, captured his act.
After the ambulances carried away the injured, Habak was overcome with emotion and sank to the ground. The other camerapersons captured the heartbreaking sight.
The Observatory and the United Nations cited reports that more than 60 children were among the dead.
