The Ayyam Gallery in Dubai is exhibiting the artistic representation of world leaders in a vulnerable state of life. The series of painting is called ‘The Vulnerability Series’ by artist Abdalla Al Omari. This series of paintings lends itself the ability to turn world leaders ‘vulnerable’ by taking their power away.

Abdalla is a Brussels-based Syrian artist who fled Syria five years ago and has found solace in his art work. He uses his art as an articulation of the pain and sufferings of the millions of refugees in Syria. His art becomes an expression of all those displaced citizens across the world who have been made miserable by the inaction or complicity of world leaders.

Through his ‘Vulnerability’ series, he reverses the role of all the leading political figures of the world and places them in a state of vulnerability, reimagining a scenario in which they are rendered as powerless as the refugees they refuse.
