Punjab minister Navjot Singh Sidhu condemned the Modi government over Pulwama, unemployment, Rafale deal and more while addressing the media in Raipur, Chhattisgarh.

Sidhu Slams PM Modi for Politicising Pulwama

Sidhu slammed the Modi government for politicising the Pulwama attack that took place on 14 February to benefit his party during elections. He also alleged that it was ‘intelligence failure’ that led to the ghastly blast in Pulwama resulting in the death of 40 CRPF jawans.

“1,700 terror attacks took place during your reign, which is the highest. Eight jawans were martyred in 2010, but today, 61 jawans lost their lives, which is the highest. Is it not intelligence failure that 250 kg RDX hit the convoy? Is this not intelligence failure?... Unlike earlier, when the ministers would be asked to give their resignations in case of terror attacks... today, ministers are asking for votes. Modi sahab, you are in power and whoever questions you becomes anti-national.”

Sidhu Questions Ambani & Adani’s Growth

Those who talked about ‘sabka saath sabka vikas’ must tell us why is it that only Ambani and Adani saw the ‘vikas’... Ambani sahab was allotted 1,240-acre land for just Rs 40 crore by the government to establish a cement plant. The cement plant was never set up, rather Ambani later sold it for Rs 4,800 crore.

Sidhu also said that the prime minister was advertising with Jio which made profits worth Rs 900 crore a year, while the government-owned BSNL was suffering an annual loss of Rs 8,000 crore.

Sidhu on Nirav Modi, Lalit Modi & Black Money

Taking a jibe at PM Modi’s claim that he is the ‘chowkidar’ of the government, Sidhu said:

Who was the ‘chowkidar’ when Nirav Modi and Lalit Modi fled? RBI Governor Raghuram Rajan sent a list of 17 people... but no action was taken against anyone.

He also questioned that if there was black money in circulation in India, then how did 99.7 percent currency came back to the government (after demonetisation)?

The Congress leader also took a jibe at PM Modi’s ‘Main Bhi Chowkidar’ campaign.

He said, “The world is progressing, China is constructing rail lines under the sea, America is finding life on Mars, Russia is developing a robotic army and you (BJP) are making chowkidars, that too who are thieves.”

Chhattisgarh is voting across first three phases on 11, 18 and 23 April.
