Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar met the aggrieved parents of Pradyumn Thakur, the seven-year-old student who was found dead in Gurugram’s Ryan International School on September 9.
Amid teary eyes and sympathetic gestures, Khattar decided to transfer the investigation of the murder case to the CBI on the parents’ demand, and appealed for a speedy investigation.
Khattar also claimed that the management of Ryan International School will be taken over by the government. The Deputy Commissioner will look after the loopholes in the school’s system, along with providing support in the investigation procedure.
He claimed that the appeal to take over the case will be sent to the CBI immediately.
Satisfied with the CM’s response to the plea of moving the case to the CBI, Pradyumn’s parents are now hoping to get justice soon.
The Supreme Court has also issued a notice to the Centre and all states asking them to file a reply within three weeks on the issue of safety of children in schools.
