Several parts of Himachal Pradesh have received heavy rainfall which have caused many areas to flood.
In one such instance, a group of villages in the Bharmour area of Himachal Pradesh's Chamba district were stuck on 2 July, as a flooded rivulet obstructed their path.
Thankfully, a JCB earth digger came to their rescue, carrying the villagers through the rivulet. Video footage captures the earth digger driving through the flooded rivulet, rescuing villagers and driving them back to safety. The digger took multiple trips until all the stranded villagers were rescued.
Heavy rains and flash floods have ravaged Chamba, causing inconvenience to the people. Heavy rains have triggered landslides in Lahaul and Spiti districts of Himachal Pradesh, leading to traffic blockade in different parts of the state. The strategic Manali- Leh highway was closed for more than eight hours following landslide at Marhi on 29 June, 30 kilometres uphill from the tourist town of Manali. Heavy rains also damaged the road between Chamba and Tissa.
