‘We Will Show Them The Strength of Our Votes’: Gujarat Tribes

Many members of the tribal communities have been displaced due to the Sardar Sarovar Dam.

The Quint visited Pansoli village near Vadodara to meet the tribes who were displaced due to the Sardar Sarovar Dam. They were displaced 22 years back and are still fighting for their rights. Lakhs of people are still seeking for homes, jobs, land and compensation from the government.

Rahul Gandhi visited the members of these tribal communities and promised to fulfill their demands. He said that he will comply with the promises he made if the Congress comes to power in Gujarat this election.

The tribes expressed their dismay with the current BJP government and are determined to bring a change to their lives by exercising their voting powers this time.
