1. SC Refuses to Stay SC/ST Act Amendments, to Hear Appeals in Feb
The Supreme Court has once again refused to stay the amendments made to the SC/ST Act. The court, however, said that the issue requires hearing in detail and it would hear all matters, including the Centre's review petition, on 19 February.
The apex court had earlier refused to stay the SC/ST Amendment Act, which restored the provision that no anticipatory bail can be granted to the accused.

4. ED Issues Notice to Pakistani Singer Rahat Fateh Ali Khan Under FEMA
The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has issued a show cause notice to Pakistani singer Rahat Fateh Ali Khan on charges of smuggling foreign currency worth Rs 2 crore out of India.
In 2011, the Directorate of Revenue Intelligence had intercepted the singer and his manager, Marrouf Ali Khan, at the Indira Gandhi International Airport for allegedly carrying an undeclared amount of $1.24 lakh in foreign currency.
