1. PM Modi Meets Israeli President, Holds Talks with Netanyahu

Prime Minister Narendra Modi met Israeli President Reuven Rivlin on Wednesday at Jerusalem.

Speaking at the press meet, Rivlin said it was a "pleasure to have Modi in Israel". Responding to Rivlin’s comments, Modi said expressed his gratitude for the "warm welcome" extended to him by Israel.

Modi and Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyahu held delegation level talks.

He is also scheduled to meet Moshe Holtzberg, the 26/11 survivor who was saved from the attack that killed his parents by Indian nanny Sandra Samuel. Samuel, who takes care of Moshe till date, will also be present at the meeting.

5. Centre Seeks Report on West Bengal’s Communal Clashes

Communal clashes broke out in West Bengal’s North 24 Parganas district on the night of 3 July, following an “objectionable” Facebook post about a religious site. The unrest prompted the government to rush in 400 BSF troopers to bring the situation under control.

The violence spread to a few more areas on Tuesday. Internet services have been disrupted in the town of Baduria, under Basirhat sub-division, in the wake of the clashes.

Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh on Wednesday spoke with West Bengal Governor Keshari Nath Tripathi and Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee to take stock of the situation in the riot-hit area. The Ministry of Home Affairs also sought a detailed report from the state on the communal clashes.
