Congress President Rahul Gandhi caught everyone by surprise when he hugged Prime Minister Narendra Modi, after his spirited speech slamming the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government in the Lok Sabha. Just as social media was recovering from the hug, Gandhi threw another surprise – a wink.

The Congress scion was seen winking at a party member, after he went up to the PM for a hug.

Social media was quick to bring up Priya Prakash Varrier’s iconic wink, comparing it to the Rahul Gandhi’s. The 18-year-old shot to fame when her winking scene from the trailer of the Malayalam film ‘Oru Adaar Love’ took social media by storm.

Speaking to ANI, Priya Prakash described Gandhi’s wink as a “sweet gesture”.

I have just come back from college to see Rahul Gandhi wink at Prime Minister Narendra Modi in the Parliament. He greeted him with a very sweet gesture. I am very happy. It was my signature moment in the movie where I started off.
