Ashok Kumar, who got out on bail in the Ryan School murder case, is suffering from high fever. According to a report by The Times of India, Kumar is too scared to step out of his village for treatment.
Hours after Kumar’s release, his wife, Mamta, told reporters that he was wrongly implicated in the murder of 7-year-old Pradhyumn Thakur in the school premises in September.
Ashok was beaten up by the police and forced to confess to a crime he did not commit, Mamta alleged. The Gurugram Police had claimed that Ashok had tried to molest Pradyuman, killing him with a knife when he resisted.
Speaking to ANI, Ashok’s wife said:
Ashok was granted bail by the Gurugram District Court on 21 November, on the grounds of benefit of doubt. The CBI investigation led officials to arrest a class 11 student in relation to the crime, thereby giving Ashok a clean chit.
