Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed lakhs of BJP workers on Monday, 16 October, in Gujarat, where Assembly elections are slated to be held later this year.
Taking part in the Gujarat Gaurav Mahasammelan, he slammed the Congress for criticising GST. He also challenged the opposition to fight the Gujarat polls on the basis of development.
The rally was held in Bhat village near Gandhinagar where BJP president Amit Shah and Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani were also present.
He said that the BJP workers in Gujarat suffered when the Congress was in power and while there are parties that are “dynastic”, the BJP is a cadre-based party.
He ended his speech after announcing that he will return to Gujarat after Diwali to inaugurate the Ghogha-Dahej Ro-Ro Ferry Service that will benefit thousands in South Gujarat's Saurashtra region.
