With just a few days ahead of the Himachal Pradesh Assembly Elections, Congress VP Rahul Gandhi conducted three rallies in the state on 6 November.
At Chamba, Rahul Gandhi compared the current Himachal Pradesh government under Congress CM Virbhadra Singh to BJP’s Gujarat Model and claimed that HP stands way higher when it comes to education, medical facilities and anti-corruption practices.
He went ahead and further took a dig at PM Modi and his silence on corruption and scams related to his party members.
Rebuking the current BJP Govt for claiming that they will celebrate a year of demonetisation, Rahul Gandhi claimed that the common people had nothing to celebrate since demonetisation, followed by GST only benefitted the top 10 industrialists in the country.
He claimed that it was because of these two economic efforts that the state of Himachal Pradesh lost its symbol: the Himachali topi or hat.
Decoding the word ‘HAT’, Rahul claimed that it stood for Horticulture, Agriculture and Tourism, the three things that the state runs on.
Rahul Gandhi claimed that the biggest challenge that the nation faces today is unemployment, a front where he feels the BJP has massively failed. He said that he wishes to see a day when a Chinese person clicks a selfie and realizes that his/her phone is Made in Himachal Pradesh.
