Plastic Rice: Uttarakhand Food Retailers Found Selling It Openly
Unwitting customers bought what they thought was regular rice, only to find that it had more use as a toy.

Food retailers in Haldwani District, Uttarakhand were found selling plastic rice. It might look very similar to regular rice but in reality, it’s poison on your plate.
People who were tricked into buying the adulterated rice made a plastic ball out of it. The ‘rice ball’ bounces off like any other plastic ball and people actually used it to play.
KK Mishra, City Magistrate assured that the district Magistrate and the authorities of Municipal Corporation have formed a team that will conduct a raid and will take strict action against the shopkeepers found selling the adulterated food grain.
