‘Pakistan Is Terroristan’: India Hits Back at Abbasi at the UNGA

In his UNGA address, Pakistani Prime Minister Abbasi accused India of sponsoring cross-border terrorism.

Calling Pakistan "terroristan", India on 21 September said it’s neighbouring country has become "a geography synonymous with terror" with a flourishing "industry" producing and exporting global terrorism.

Exercising its right to reply after Pakistan Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi raked up the Kashmir issue at the UN General Assembly, India said it is extraordinary that the state which protected Osama bin Laden and sheltered Mullah Omar should have the gumption to play the victim.

By now, all of Pakistan’s neighbours are painfully familiar with these tactics to create a narrative based on distortions, deception, and deceit.

She said that Pakistan's counterterrorism policy is to mainstream and upstream terrorists by either providing safe havens to global terror leaders in its military town, or protecting them with "political careers".

In his address to the United Nations General Assembly, Abbasi had accused India of indulging in terror activities against his country and warned of a “matching response” if it “ventures across the LoC” or acts upon its “doctrine of limited war against Pakistan.”

He urged the United Nations to appoint a special envoy to Kashmir, as he claimed that the struggle of the people in the region was being "brutally suppressed" by India.

Addressing the UNGA, Abbasi also claimed that there are no Taliban safe havens in the country.
