DU Girl at Centre of the Pak Defence Morphed Photo Row Speaks Out

Delhi University student Kawalpreet Kaur was in for a shock this week, when she found a morphed photo of herself making the rounds on Twitter. A verified handle, @defencepk, tweeted a photo of Kaur posing with a placard outside Jama Masjid in New Delhi.

While Kaur had originally used the photo to express solidarity with the nationwide protests against mob lynching earlier this year, the text on her placard in the morphed photo read: “India is a colonial entity”.
