Almost all the workers in Noida industrial area are paid their salary in cash. But due to the cash crunch that has risen due to the note ban, the conditions are not very good. The Quint spoke to a worker, Vijay Kumar Jha, who told us that the workers are getting ‘coupons’ instead of their salaries.

Companies are providing these coupons to their workers so that they can purchase their groceries from the store using these as credits.

But how long will this last?

We are really scared. I don’t know when we will get our salary, how will I manage the school fees of my children. The problem may last from a few months to an year.
Manju, Factory worker

Like Vijay, about 250 other workers are employed in his factory, whose joy of payday was crushed by the note ban.
