1. Nitish Kumar Takes Oath as Bihar CM With BJP Support

Nitish Kumar took oath as the Chief Minister of Bihar for the sixth time at 10 am on Thursday, hours after he resigned from the top post on Wednesday evening.

Senior BJP leader Sushil Kumar Modi has been sworn in as the new Deputy Chief Minister.

Nitish Kumar submitted his resignation to Governor Keshari Nath Tripathi, after blaming RJD chief Lalu Prasad Yadav and the Congress for making it impossible with him to continue with the ‘mahagathbandhan’ in Bihar.

2. India Post 600 & Reduce SL to 154/5 on Day 2 of Galle Test

The Indian bowlers put their foot on the pedal after a flamboyant innings from debutant Hardik Pandya on day two of the first Test against Sri Lanka in Galle on Thursday.

At the stumps, Sri Lanka were struggling at 154/5 after Pandya's 49-ball-50 helped the visitors reach a mammoth first innings score of 600. Shikhar Dhawan with 190 and Cheteshwar Pujara's 153 were the cornerstone of the gigantic total.

Sri Lanka need another 246 runs to avoid the follow-on with former skipper Angelo Mathews batting on 54.
