Nepalese President Bidhya Devi Bhandari concluded her 5-day visit to India on Wednesday. This was President Bhandari’s first state visit after she assumed office. Nepal’s Foreign Affairs Minister Prakash Sharan Mahat, who accompanied the President during her visit, said:
He further added that India's President Pranab Mukherjee, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and leaders of various political parties, during their meetings with President Bhandari, highlighted the significance of Nepal-India ties and extended best wishes to Nepal in its efforts towards implementing the new Constitution and holding of local elections.
President Bhandari started her first state visit on 17 April. Her visit to India covered meetings with President Pranab Mukherjee, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and other senior Indian politicians and businessmen. President Bhandari also visited the temples in Dwarka and Jagannath Puri.
She was also hosted by the Governors of Gujarat and Odisha for dinner.
