The incident in Bihar’s Muzaffarpur under Nitish Kumar’s government is reminiscent of Mahabharata’s ‘Dushasan’, who tried to disrobe Draupadi. But under ‘Sushasan Babu’ Nitish Kumar’s rule, no one expected such a ‘Dushasan’ to occur.
No one must have thought that innocent girls will be abused and assaulted under Nitish Kumar's government which has been in power for the past 13 years. Or that Nitish will continue to blame the system.
At a press conference to discuss the sexual abuse of minor girls in the shelter, Nitish Kumar probably forgot that he was talking about rapes – a horrific crime. While speaking about the crime he, at times, smiled and also at times, spoke sarcastically.
While talking about system failures, he was found smiling.
For the past thirteen years, Nitish Kumar has become so used to being praised, that even when painful incidents like Muzaffarpur shelter abuse come to light, he still wants the praise for himself to continue.
For a while, we accept that you ordered Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS) to audit the shelter homes. But why did you delay in registering an FIR?
Even when the audit reports were released. Why did it take so long to arrest Brajesh Thakur? How did a girl from Madhubani disappear?
Is this too the system's fault? Or is it the fault of the reporters whose job is to ask questions?
