A young boy’s video has been trending on social media for speaking against the BJP on a live debate on TV. He criticised the prime minister for adding ‘Chowkidar’ as a prefix to his twitter handle, saying the country needs a prime minister and not a Chowkidar.
Speaking exclusively to The Quint, the LLB student clarified:
Sharma, who will be voting for the first time this year, has been called for several live debates after his video went viral.
His stint with news started in Palika Bazaar when he talked on camera for the first time as he answered an Aaj Tak and a News 24 reporter. He really liked it, and felt that he was doing something productive. So he kept going back there. His peers and family told him that he spoke the right things which also bolstered his confidence.
Now, he runs to attend live news debates, right after his classes end.
When asked why he speaks up only against the BJP, he said it isn’t a personal thing – he criticises any party whose actions he dislikes, whether BJP or Congress.
