Addressing a rally at Gujarat’s Dharampur ahead of the state’s assembly elections, Prime Minister Narendra Modi mocked Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi’s nomination for the party president post.
Likening the nomination to ‘Aurangzeb Raj’, Modi alleged that the elevation of Rahul Gandhi to party president was akin to Mughal rule, where succession was dynastic by nature.
Slamming the Congress for reportedly spreading rumours about BJP’s bias against Muslims, Modi said that the people of Gujarat weren’t naive enough to fall to the party’s tactics.
He said that the party that earlier boasted of its secular nature had shown its ‘true colours’ while campaigning for the upcoming elections in the state. “Unfortunately for them, Muslims know their true nature,” he said.
Modi then said that while the party was deeply entrenched in its ‘Aurangzeb Raj’, the BJP would work for the well-being of the people. “The wishes of the 125 crore Indians are our high command,” he said.
