Meet Mani, the adorable eight-year old pooch who is winning the hearts of locals in Tamil Nadu’s Krishnagiri for dutifully delivering 25 litres of milk, twice a day, loaded on a specially designed cart, for the last six years.
The brown mongrel was rescued by Thangavelu, a dairy-trader from a street a week after his birth. Mani learnt the exact routes and the locations by following his master.
Every morning and evening, Thangavelu, who has five cows and four buffalos, packs milk in three large cans and loads them onto the cart that he specially designed for Mani at home. He then attaches it to Mani's back and Mani delivers milk at the right place.
Mani is loved by everyone in the village. The villagers reward him with milk and biscuits in return.
